As the owner of Arcadia Animal Hospital, Dr. Rachel Niu is passionate about improving the lives of pets through high-quality medical care, with special interests in surgery, dentistry, dermatology, and senior pet care—particularly pain management for orthopedic conditions. For her, the most satisfying part of being a veterinarian is being able to enhance an animal’s quality of life (and, of course, caring for all the cats she meets!).
Dr. Niu completed her undergraduate degree in Animal Science at the University of California, Davis, and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences. She grew up in the San Gabriel Valley area and has always been drawn to medicine, with a natural passion for surgery and the ability to help pets live healthier, happier lives.
Her home is filled with a lively crew: a dog named Biscuit Mashed Potatoes and Yams; three cats—Brioche Von Loafenburg, Kevin Bacon Bitz, and Meep Meep Meep Bo Beep; and two tortoises, Kale Pasta and Arugula Cheese.
When not at the hospital, Dr. Niu can often be found running, crocheting, tending to her plants, or exploring her interest in business. She and her husband are raising two wonderful children, making family life just as busy and joyful as life at the clinic.
