Dr. Melanie Sanfilippo joined Arcadia Animal Hospital in August 2025 and enjoys practicing general veterinary medicine with a strong focus on client education. She is a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and finds the most rewarding part of her work to be helping pet owners better understand how to keep their animals healthy.
Dr. Sanfilippo earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Science (Biomedical Sciences) from California State University, Sacramento, and went on to graduate from Western University of Health Sciences. Growing up in Elk Grove, California, she always knew she wanted to work with animals—at seven years old she told her dad she wanted to work at Petco, but as she grew older her passion for medicine and science led her to become a veterinarian.
At home, she shares life with Delilah, her spirited 15-year-old Bengal mix. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Sanfilippo enjoys reading, birding, baking competitions like The Great British Bake Off, and watching movies.
